Beyond Psychotherapy

While psychotherapy remains at the heart of Root-based Healing, the practice also contributes to broader conversations surrounding trauma recovery, healing, and well-being through the development of ideas, writing, and community engagement.

Writing & Authorship

Root-based Healing also serves as the home of an emerging book project exploring trauma recovery and healing through our RBH lens. As part of this work, Iris continues to refine and develop the Root-based Healing (RBH) model, an evolving framework that will be explored more fully through future publications. This work seeks to bridge lived experience, clinical understanding, and practical application for both individuals and professionals seeking a deeper understanding of trauma—from its origins, through recovery, and into the emergence of healing.

Community Leadership

As a Bainbridge Island resident, Iris believes that the impact of trauma is experienced within the context of relationships. As a newly appointed Board Member to the Bainbridge Island Senior/Community Center (BISCC) Board of Directors, she looks forward to supporting efforts that foster connection, belonging, and well-being for island residents.

Looking Ahead

Root-based Healing will continue to evolve as a boutique psychotherapy practice while exploring opportunities to expand access to its work beyond the clinical setting. Future initiatives may include educational, supportive, and other non-clinical offerings designed to make the principles of trauma recovery and healing more accessible to individuals who may not otherwise engage in traditional psychotherapy or reside outside of Washington State.
